Pleasing Sunrise

Pleasing Sunrise is a four-year old filly we purchased at the Barrett's October Yearling Sale in 2009.  She is by Speightstown; a Breeders Cup Sprint Champion, winner of $1.2 Million and one of the leading sires in the country.   Pleasing is a half-sister of Million Dollar winner Excessive pleasure.   She was bred by Dave Newcomb of Walking G Ranch in Taylorsville, California.

Pleasing Sunrise received her early training at Magali Farms under the excellent care of Tom Hudson.  Pleasing Sunrise broke her maiden by almost 3 lengths beating graded stakes winner California Nectar.   http://www.youtube.com/delmarracetrack#p/u/84/L6kWKLdxuEI

She followed that with a third in a paceless allowance race at Hollywood Park before finishing 1 1/2 lengths back as a fast closing third in the Anoakia Stakes at Hollywood Park.  The second place runner in that Anoakia returned to win the Blue Norther Stakes on the grass at Santa Anita.

After some nagging injuries, Pleasing Sunrise, has fallen somewhat short of expectations but will give it another try when racing returns to Hollywood Park.
